Movement, light, and energy shape the experience at Beachcombers Restaurant and Wet Whistle Poolside Bar – where layered outdoor spaces create a dynamic, all-day coastal destination. From elevated lounge seating to poolside gathering zones, the design unfolds as a sequence of distinct yet connected environments, each responding to the rhythm of the beach and the social nature of the setting.
Materiality draws directly from the character of Myrtle Beach. Wood-look tile flooring, installed in varied directional patterns, introduces movement underfoot, while a distressed black-and-white inset at the upper lounge references the nostalgia of the historic boardwalk – an interplay of pattern and memory that earned the project the 2022 CID Award for Hospitality Tile Design. The palette balances sun-washed neutrals with saturated ocean blues, creating a backdrop that feels both relaxed and vibrant.
